World Premiere, Devil’s Dermish - Bernofsky
Newly released on Presser, this is a showpiece for trombone and piano, written for me by the wonderful composer and friend, Lauren Bernofsky. This live performance is from the Premiere at Boston University in 1996. It makes particular use of the various technical attributes of the slide trombone, at times lyrical and other times a robust odd-meter dance, and also includes a very difficult cadenza involving multiphonics.
Scott Nicolas, Piano
Brian Diehl, Trombone

Piece Concertante - Rousseau
One of my first collaborations with my mother, now deceased, on piano, while in high school. A very early representation of my playing… I was a freshman in high school-1982!
